It is more advisable to categorized it immediately. For example, the Dr diagnosed the patient with caries into pulp then they will only do pulp capping or pulpotomy.
Categorized it if its:
Reversible pulpitis – pulp can still be saved through restoration + pulp capping or pulpotomy
Irreversible pulpitis – pulp can no longer be saved, hence, subjected for complete removal of pulp(pulpectomy) + RCT or complete removal of tooth (extraction)
